EP.14: How Often Should You Post on Social Media?

Andrew: Wondering how often you should be posting on social media? In this episode of Fitness Marketing Blueprint, I'm going to break it down for you and show you the best times to post so that you can get the most out of your social media strategy.

Hey there! ANDREW WALLIS here, and if we’ve never met before, I help empower fitness business owners to make an impact doing what they love and I do that by helping them grow and monetise their visibility so they can get clients on demand.

Today I'm going to talk about something that a lot of people are wondering about these days - how often they should be posting on social media.

It's a great way to connect with your audience, but if you're not doing it right, you could be wasting your time.

So stay tuned and I'll break it all down for you.

1. There is no one answer to this question- it depends on your target audience, and goals

The answer to this question depends on your target audience, and goals. For example, as a business who services with the public you will need to post more often than a B2B company.

If you are targeting a younger audience and when I say younger I am talking about millennials and gen z, so people aged 41 or less, you will need to post more often than if you are targeting an older audience.

This is because millennials and Gen Z consumers have shorter attention spans and are more likely to engage with brands that are active on social media.

And your goals will also play a role in how often you should post. If you are looking to increase brand awareness, you will need to post more frequently than if you are looking to drive sales.

Ultimately, there is no one answer to this question- it all depends on your unique situation.

2. However, a good rule of thumb is to post somewhere between 1-3 times per day

There are a number of factors to consider, including the platform you're using, the audience you're trying to reach, and the type of content you're sharing.

However, a good rule of thumb is to post somewhere between 1-3 times per day. This will help ensure that your content is seen by the people who matter most, without bombarding them with too much information at once.

Of course, the most important thing is to create quality content that your audience will actually want to read.

So, take the time to brainstorm some interesting ideas, and then stick to a schedule that you can maintain over time. Before long, you'll be an expert at social media postings!

3. Keep in mind that quality over quantity always matters

Quality should always take precedence over quantity when it comes to your content. In other words, it's better to post one well-crafted piece of content than it is to post several pieces that are hastily thrown together.

That being said, there is no magic number when it comes to how often you should be posting. How frequently you should post will depend on factors such as the platform you're using, the type of content you're sharing, and your audience's preferences.

However, as a general rule, you should aim to post quality content on a regular basis. By doing so, you'll be more likely to capture and keep your audience's attention.

4. You don't want to bombard your followers with too many posts at once

The frequency of your posts will depend on a number of factors, including the platform you're using, the type of content you're sharing, and your goals for social media.

For example, if you're using social media to build awareness of your brand, you'll want to post more frequently than if you're using it to drive sales.

You'll also need to consider the attention span of your audience. If you're posting on a platform like Twitter, where users are constantly scrolling through their feeds, you'll need to post more often to ensure that your content is seen.

On the other hand, if you're posting on Facebook, where users are more likely to check their feed less frequently, you can get away with posting less often.

Ultimately, there's no magic formula for how often to post on social media. The best approach is to experiment and see what works best for your business.

5. Try testing out different frequencies and see what works best for you

There is no magic frequency that will guarantee success, but there are some general guidelines that can help you find the right balance for your brand.

First, consider your audience and what they want to see from you. If you're posting too much, you risk overwhelming them and driving them away.

On the other hand, if you're not posting enough, you risk being forgotten. Second, think about the platforms you're using and how often they're being updated.

If you're on a site like Twitter that's constantly moving, you'll need to post more frequently to make sure your content is seen.

However, if you're on a site like Facebook that's less active, you can get away with posting less often.

Finally, experiment and see what works best for you.

There's no substitute for trial and error when it comes to social media. So try out different frequencies and see what gets the best results for your business.

6. And most importantly, always be sure to monitor your analytics so you can track your progress

And most importantly, always be sure to monitor your analytics so you can track your progress.

By tracking your social media performance, you'll be able to see which posts are resonating with your audience and tailor your content accordingly.

Additionally, analytics can help you identify patterns and trends so you can adjust your strategy on the fly.

Without constantly monitoring your social media analytics, it would be very difficult to ensure that you're making the most of your social media presence.

So make sure to check in regularly and see how your latest posts are performing!

Conclusion:

How often should you post on social media? That depends on a number of factors, including your goals for social media, the platform you're using, and your audience.

However, as a general rule of thumb, it's a good idea to post at least once a day on each platform. This will help you stay top of mind with your followers and ensure that your content is fresh and engaging.

Of course, if you're posting several times a day, you'll need to make sure that your content is relevant and interesting.

Otherwise, you risk bombarding your followers with too much information and losing their attention.

Ultimately, the key is to strike a balance between posting too little and posting too much.

By following this advice, you can ensure that your social media presence is both effective and engaging.
